WHAT IS DUOLINGO?
Last year, when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its peak, people were hesitant to go out of their homes, several tests were suspended, test centers were shut down, borders were closed, and still, there were a large number of students who wanted to secure their admissions in foreign universities amidst Covid.
To cater the needs of these students, Duolingo Company introduced the Duolingo English Test as an affordable and convenient test which could be attempted from the comfort of our homes.
It is an English Language Proficiency test that fulfills the requirements for international applicants from over 3000 universities around the globe for just $49.
This test can be taken anywhere, anytime on your own computer. No appointments, no travel to the test center. The entire duration is just under an hour and measures the same skills of yours as IELTS i.e. listening, reading, writing and speaking. Even the result of the test is made available within 48 hours.
What else do you need?
You might be worried about the conduct of the Duolingo test. It is necessary that you are fully prepared once you sit for this exam. As you are taking it from your home, you are your own conducting body and need to make sure you are fully equipped. In addition to the preparation, these are few things that must be made sure of before starting the exam.
It is very important that you understand the rules of this test. If you fail to follow the rules outlined by Duolingo Team, you will need to take the test again. Some of the rules include: not wearing earphones, not looking off-screen, not talking to anyone else.
